Williscroft & Co are committed to providing Family Legal Aid to those of our clients who are eligible.

The Legal Aid, Sentencing and Punishment of Offenders Act 2012 severely curtailed the availability of Legal Aid in family matters.

Legal Aid is still available to those who have specific evidence of domestic abuse or evidence that their child is at risk of some form of child abuse. In addition, it is available to apply for a protective injunction due to domestic abuse, if Social Services are considering or applying to taking your children into care, or if your case involves international child abduction.

Legal Aid is often subject to a means and merits test.
